HTML to PDF: Print a Web Page Properly

Web pages are built for a viewport, not a sheet of paper. Rendering at a set width is what stops the layout breaking across pages.

What this tool does

Turns a web page or a block of HTML into a PDF, with a viewport width, a page size and a choice between one long page and paginated output. Ad blocking, overlay removal and print stylesheets are optional.

How it works

Paste the markup or list the addresses (one per line), pick the screen width that should be simulated, then convert. Use the print stylesheet when the site has one — that is the layout its author intended for paper. Long pages often read better as paginated A4 than as one continuous sheet.

  1. Upload the file, or paste the address you want converted.
  2. Set web addresses (one per line) and screen size — the settings below explain what each one changes.
  3. Run the tool and download the result.

Settings that decide the result

  • Screen size — Your screen (1200px), Desktop HD (1920px), Desktop (1440px), Tablet (768px), Mobile (320px)
  • Page size — A4, A3, A5, US Letter, A2, Legal
  • Orientation — Portrait, Landscape
  • Page margin — No margin, Small margin, Big margin

The remaining 7 controls stay on the tool page, where each one sits next to the live preview.

When to reach for it

  • An invoice or order page must be archived as a PDF. Render it with print styles and no overlays.
  • A block of HTML needs to become a document. Paste the markup instead of publishing it.

Questions we get

What input can I give it?

A web address, an uploaded .html file, or pasted code — the page is fetched and printed to PDF with its styles, ready to archive or send.

Where it fits

The tools people usually open next to HTML to PDF:

  • Word to PDF — Creates a PDF document from Microsoft Word .docx
  • JPG to PDF — Convert Images to PDF
  • Split by pages — Split specific page ranges, or every page into a separate document.

Every tool works on a copy, so the original file is never modified. Uploads are stored under an unguessable id and deleted automatically two hours after you last open them; nothing is listed, shared or indexed. More on the security page.
