Word is for writing; PDF is for sending. Conversion freezes the layout so the recipient sees the same page you approved, but the quality depends on what the document contains and which fonts are available.
Step by step
-
1
Choose your file
Drag the file in or click Choose file. PDFs and Office documents are both accepted here.
-
2
Run it and download
Press Word to PDF and the page shows progress while it works. When it finishes you get a download link — nothing is emailed and nothing is stored longer than it needs to be.
Why freeze a Word document
A PDF keeps page breaks, images and spacing from moving when the file is opened on another machine. Use it for a contract, a CV, an invoice or a final report. Keep the .docx as the editable master and send the PDF as the copy.
Fonts and page breaks
If the document uses a font the converter cannot find, it will substitute one and the line lengths may change. Embed or install the font before converting. Check the page breaks, especially around tables and headings that should not be orphaned at the bottom of a page.
Check the converted PDF
Open the PDF and compare the first page, the last page and any page with a table or image. Check headers, footers and page numbers, then search for a word to confirm the text is selectable. If the document will be signed, convert first and sign the PDF rather than signing the Word file.
Good habits for Word to PDF
- Images are placed one per page at their natural size.
- Office formats keep their basic styling; embedded fonts are substituted if the file is missing.
- For a web address, inline the CSS if the page is not publicly reachable.
Common questions
Is this tool free?
Yes. Every tool on this site is free to use, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily task limit.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The tools run in your browser and are processed by this server.
What happens to my files?
They are stored under an unguessable id and swept automatically after a couple of hours. Nothing is shared or indexed.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The page pickers and editors are built for touch, so dragging, rotating and selecting pages all work without a mouse.
What does Word to PDF do exactly?
Converts Word, Excel, PowerPoint or OpenDocument files into PDF.
Will the PDF keep hyperlinks?
Links in the Word document usually survive the conversion. Check them in the exported PDF, especially links inside tables.
Can I edit the PDF afterwards?
You can annotate or edit text, but the .docx remains the better editing master. Use the PDF editor for small changes and reconvert the Word file for structural ones.
What if my font changes?
The converter substituted a font it could not find. Install or embed the original font and convert again.
