Flip or Mirror a PDF Page Horizontally
Some printing processes read the page from the other side. Mirroring is the correction that stops a design coming out backwards.
What this tool does
Mirrors pages horizontally or vertically — the fix for artwork printed back to front, a transfer sheet, or a scan made through the back of the paper.
How it works
Choose the direction and the pages to change, then download. Text mirrors with the page, so use a page range to flip only the pages that need it. For rotation rather than reflection, use Rotate.
- Choose the PDF, or drag it onto the page.
- Set direction — the settings below explain what each one changes.
- Run the tool and download the result.
Settings that decide the result
- Direction — Horizontal, Vertical
The remaining 1 controls stay on the tool page, where each one sits next to the live preview.
When to reach for it
- Artwork is printed face down on transfer paper. Mirror horizontally before printing.
- A scan was made through the back of the sheet. Flip it back to the readable side.
Questions we get
Why would I flip a PDF?
Mirror printing on transparent film and scanning the backs of pages are the classics. Flipping mirrors the page horizontally or vertically — the text is untouched, just reflected.
Where it fits
The tools people usually open next to Flip:
- Organize PDF — Arrange, rotate, duplicate, delete or insert PDF pages.
- Rotate — Rotate and save PDF pages permanently.
- Split in half — Split two page layout scans, A3 to double A4 or A4 to double A5.
Every tool works on a copy, so the original file is never modified. Uploads are stored under an unguessable id and deleted automatically two hours after you last open them; nothing is listed, shared or indexed. More on the security page.
