Organize

Rotate PDF Pages and Save the Orientation

A sideways scan looks fixed until someone else opens it. Rotating here saves the orientation into the document itself.

What this tool does

Turns pages by 90, 180 or 270 degrees and saves the orientation into the file, so every viewer and printer agrees.

How it works

Choose the angle and either all pages or a range. Rotation is written permanently to the new file, which is what you want for a landscape scan in a portrait document. If pages also need reordering, do both in Organize.

  1. Choose the PDF, or drag it onto the page.
  2. Set angle — the settings below explain what each one changes.
  3. Run the tool and download the result.

Settings that decide the result

  • Angle — 90° clockwise, 180°, 90° counter-clockwise
  • Discard bookmarks

The remaining 1 controls stay on the tool page, where each one sits next to the live preview.

When to reach for it

  • A scan is saved landscape but reads portrait. Turn the pages once and the file stays right.
  • Only a few pages are the wrong way up. Apply the rotation to the pages you name.

Questions we get

Can I rotate only some pages?

Yes — turn single cards, or use the scope choices (all pages, only odd, only even). Rotation is written into the file itself, so it holds in every viewer and when printing.

Where it fits

The tools people usually open next to Rotate PDF:

  • Split by bookmarks — Extract chapters to separate documents based on the PDF bookmarks.
  • Delete Pages — Remove pages from a PDF document.
  • Split in half — Split two page layout scans, A3 to double A4 or A4 to double A5.

Every tool works on a copy, so the original file is never modified. Uploads are stored under an unguessable id and deleted automatically two hours after you last open them; nothing is listed, shared or indexed. More on the security page.
