Split a PDF Every N Pages Into Separate Files
When a batch is uniform — every statement two pages, every form one — the cut points are arithmetic, not judgement. Set N and the file splits itself.
What this tool does
Breaks a long document into equal chunks of N pages — the quickest way to turn one statement, invoice run or form batch into one file per item.
How it works
Set the number of pages per file and download the ZIP. A document that is not an exact multiple of N leaves a shorter final file, not a padded one. Naming works the same as the range splitter: [BASENAME]-[CURRENTPAGE] labels each part by its first page.
- Choose the PDF, or drag it onto the page.
- Set file name pattern — the settings below explain what each one changes.
- Run the tool and download the ZIP.
Settings that decide the result
- File name pattern — [BASENAME] is the document name, [CURRENTPAGE] the part's last page (the page it ends on), [PART] the part number and [TOTALPAGES] how many parts there are.
- Pages per file
- Discard bookmarks
When to reach for it
- A merged batch needs to become individual documents. Statements, invoices and forms usually split on a fixed page count.
- A downstream system only accepts small files. Every chunk arrives in one ZIP, already named.
Questions we get
When would I split every N pages?
When each sheet or section should stand alone — one file per invoice, per chapter, per form. Pick the step and every group of N pages becomes a separate PDF.
Where it fits
The tools people usually open next to Split every N pages:
- N-up — Print multiple pages per sheet per paper.
- Resize — Change PDF page size and add margins/padding.
- Delete Pages — Remove pages from a PDF document.
Every tool works on a copy, so the original file is never modified. Uploads are stored under an unguessable id and deleted automatically two hours after you last open them; nothing is listed, shared or indexed. More on the security page.
